COMEX Copper extended recent streak of decline and descended to a one-week low amid lack of major cues from overnight equities. Stock markets in the US are closed on Monday on account of Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Asian stock markets are trading mixed on Tuesday, following the broadly positive cues from European markets and lack of cues from Wall Street overnight, as markets reacted positively to US President Donald Trump's decision not to impose China-specific tariffs on his first day in office. However, dollar pulled back sharply in the previous session could limit losses in the counter. Meanwhile, profit selling pressure weighed on the red metal which currently quotes at $4.30 per pound, down 1.42% on the day.
