COMEX Copper gains half a percent

COMEX Copper futures edged up steadily today as a sideways movement continued for the red metal after recent recovery from one month low. The counter currently trades at $4.35 per pound, up half a percent on the day. Equities were mixed today. China's Shanghai Composite index fell 0.68%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost 1.30%. Japanese Nikkei index edged up 0.10%. However, European markets rose with major indices adding around half a percent. The US stocks eased yesterday as major averages all moved notably lower, with the Dow and the S&P 500 extending their losing streaks to three days. Weakness in US stocks and a firm US dollar pulled down COMEX Copper by 1% in last session.
