SEBI has extended derivatives trading ban on seven agri-commodities till Jan 2025. SEBI had directed Stock Exchanges having Commodity Derivatives Segment to suspend trading in derivative contracts in select agri commodities, till December 20, 2022. These commodities were Paddy (non-basmati), Wheat, Chana, Mustard seeds and its derivatives, Soya bean and its derivatives, Crude Palm Oil and Moong. Thereafter, the suspension in trading in the above contracts was extended twice for one more year till December 20, 2023 and December 20, 2024 respectively. In continuation of the said directions, the suspension in trading in the above contracts has been extended till January 31, 2025.
