According to a latest update from USGS, in October 2024, the US mines produced 86,800 metric tons (t) of recoverable copper. Average daily mine production was 2,800 t, a slight decrease from that in September and 10% less than that in October 2023. Year-to-date mine output of recoverable copper through October 2024 was 864,000 t, a decrease of 7% compared with that in the same time period in 2023. Domestic refineries produced 80,300 t of copper in October 2024; data for electrolytic and electrowon output, as well as refined production from scrap. Average daily production of refined copper was 2,590 t, 6% greater than that in September and an increase of 7% from that in October 2023. Year-to-date refinery output through October 2024 was 746,000 t compared with 739,000 t in the same time period in 2023.
