COMEX Copper futures rose in afternoon as a bounce from one-month lows extended amid mixed cues from equities. The metal spiked more than a percent to one week high above $4.41 per pound. In Asia today, China's Shanghai Composite index corrected around 1% after recent gains. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index added 0.49% while Japanese Nikkei index jumped 0.77%. European markets edged up with indices in Germany and France adding half a percent. US stocks edged up during early trades yesterday but flipped back thereafter as investors maintained caution ahead of key economic releases. The major averages all finished the day in positive territory after turning in mixed performances over the two previous sessions.
