The annual inflation rate in France remained at 0.8 percent in March 2025, its lowest since February 2021. Service inflation rose to 2.3 percent from 2.2 percent in February, driven by higher insurance and food prices, but was offset by falling energy prices at negative 6.2 percent and a slight drop in manufactured goods at negative 0.2 percent. Tobacco price growth slowed to 4.1 percent from 4.5 percent. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.2 percent, mainly due to higher costs of clothing and footwear. The EU-harmonized inflation rate held steady at 0.9 percent annually and increased 0.2 percent month-on-month.
