Natural Gas eases from eight month high as EIA reports storage injection of 45 BCF

Natural Gas futures slipped today, adding to losses after hitting eight-month high last week as markets assessed supply situation. The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Friday reported an injection of 45 Bcf natural gas into storage for the week ended November 7. Prices slipped thereafter as the latest injection was higher compared with the five-year (2020'24) average net injections of 35 Bcf. Working natural gas stocks totaled 3,960 Bcf, which is 172 Bcf (5%) more than the five-year average and only marginally lower than last year at this time. The commodity drifted lower for a second session and currently quotes at $4.49 per mmbtu, down 1.50% on the day. On the MCX, Natural Gas futures are trading at Rs 398.70 per mmbtu, down 0.42$ on the day.
