Precious Metals Preview: COMEX silver spikes to 13-year high

COMEX silver futures surged sharply higher to hit their highest level since February 2012 that marks an over 13-year high, fuelled by soft US economic data, a weakening dollar and heightened geopolitical tensions. The counter is currently up more than 1% at $36.19 per ounce. Persistent trade tensions between US and China coupled with downbeat dollar is upholding safe haven demand for the precious metals. Gold futures are also seen marching toward $3400 mark. Meanwhile on the MCX, silver reached a new all-time high of Rs 1.05 lakh per kg tracking a rally in international silver prices.
