According to the latest data from the Gujarat Agriculture Directorate, the latest sowing data showed that the total acreage under summer crops stood at 73.72 lakh hectares as on 5 August 2024, down 5.76% compared to the same period last year. Area under total cereals stood at 12.22 lakh hectares, down 6.36% on year. Pulses area was flat at 3.39 lakh hectares. Oilseeds area rose 4.14% on year to 23.87 lakh hectares. However, acreage under Cotton slumped by 12.74% to 23.35 lakh hectares.
